helping to clarify strategy, providing advice to develop successful organizations, helping to develop talented executives at various levels, monitoring the performance of complex organizations and helping organizations use information to improve their performance.
In formulating and implementing organizational change, it is useful to have an outside “sounding board” – someone who has been through these types of changes who can objectively listen, make suggestions and point out “tripping hazards.” It is a coaching approach rather than a typical consulting approach of “I’m going to tell you what you need to do.”
